In my opinion, it is a basic hotel that benefits from other hotels in the area mostly being old, and outdated and no frills. This hotel was clean with friendly staff and well located for walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants. I would suggest choosing, quite literally, anywhere else. I will be contacting my credit card company and the FTC. I am left wondering, why am I responsible for miscommunication amongst staff? What about us leaving a tiny room before the late checkout time warranted the anger that we received? Why were we charged for an extra day? Is it because they granted us a late check out? Anyway, I will not be revisiting this or any other IHG Hotel. Something to the effect that someone had gone into the record at 12:30pm (after we had left and were on our way home) and made some kind of notation. I spoke to a front desk agent who said he saw we were charged for two nights stay. Further, I have reached out to management and have had no response. 4 weeks later, the $50 incidentals hold has dropped, but the Hotel's charge for $285 remains. ![]() I contacted the booking site and was assured this was a hold that would be gone. One from the 3rd party site, one from Hotel Indigo for incidentals ($50), and a charge for $285 from Hotel Indigo. I noted that there were three charges on my account. Not wanting to upset her further, I gave her the card and she swiped it. I thought it a bit odd because I had already paid for the stay through a 3rd party booking site, and we had already put a card on file for incidentals. The same rude woman was at the desk and asked for my card. Before noon, I went downstairs and checked us out. The woman said we could stay until noon, and I assured her we would get out quickly. I pleaded as my husband had just hopped into the shower. I was met with a rude response, saying no, I did not have a late checkout and that there were none available. I called the front desk to confirm we had a late check out. The next morning, before 11am (the normal checkout time), housekeeping was knocking on our door. We made our way up to our room, and settled in. I confirmed this late checkout with the front desk and asked them to make a note. I checked us in, and requested a late checkout, since I knew we were exhausted and it would give us just a bit more time before our lengthy drive home. We chose the Hotel Indigo, and arrived at the hotel at approximately 10pm. My husband and I were taking a much needed vacation, and on our last night we ended up needing a place to stay due to gale force winds and rain. The fries were amaaaazing!! You could get them with ranch or bleu cheese but we got ranch! Great combo with the BBQ sauce and ranch! We ordered the southern fries which were half price for half the size which was perfect for 2 people. It was strawberry with a little spritzer, very flavorful and they didn't skimp on alcohol. She brought our drink which was the JIMBO. She even went to try and get the bartender for us which it wasn't a long wait, maybe 10 minutes. She told us it might be a minute on the drinks but kept us posted about everything that was going on. She helped us make decisions, told us what was on the happy hour menu and recommended drinks too. We literally were the first ones in the door and they didn't have a bartender yet but the hostess seated us and our waitress Brielle came right away. ![]() We stopped at this place on a whim and it literally was the best decision of the day! Ll leave it on a positive note to say the DJ was absolutely fantastic and took every song request we wanted. We don’t care about the amount of money, but it’s the principle of telling lies to intoxicated girls just trying to have fun. This wasn’t a miscommunication error, the waitress knew exactly what she was doing by mandating a $100 tip for herself after promising us liquor. We were all having an amazing time on the dance floor until the staff ruined our last night out. The principle of telling all of us multiple times that this was free with UNLIMITED alcohol, but then making us pay a large tip for a single bottle of vodka is absolutely ridiculous. We explicitly stated how messed up this was considering all the promises that were never followed through with. She said it was mandated that we tip her at least $100. With a singular $19.99 Pinnacle bottle, the waitress made us pay $100 plus tip. We were lied to and taken advantage of with there being no champagne, no unlimited alcohol, and it definitely wasn’t free. When we finished the first bottle, we asked for another to which her response was “if you pay for it”. We were also promised unlimited drinks for the night by the waitress. We asked multiple times if this no charge to sit there, and they reassured us that it was. One of the staff members came up to our group of 7 saying another customer bought us a table and a bottle of champagne so everything was free. This place will lie and rob you!!! We had an absolutely horrible experience with the staff as they took advantage of our group. The music ruined my experience and I’ve been to a lot of places with a dance floor and music. The one couldn’t hear what I wanted because the music was so loud she had to ask me 3 times and then hand motioned me to make a decision and hurry up, The inside atmosphere was alright, just a bunch of college kids living it up. The other complaint was how rude one of the bartender were. I’m pretty sure I’ve lost hearing from sticking around there too long. ![]() This was easily the loudest bar/club I’ve ever been to. I’m surprised they don’t hand you complementary ear buds at the door. On the website it says “You can even enjoy dancing with music that will keep you moving.” It should say “You can even book your next appointment to see an otolaryngologist” because the music was so loud it was far from enjoyable. In addition, applications such as the cross-platform Audacity ( ) and Garage Band for the Mac ( ) have made the production of audio files a simple task. It is simply a matter of granting users the appropriate permissions to perform these tasks within the system. Put simply, iTunes U is not limited to the one-to-many communication model that would typify coursecasting. However, there are other uses for these applications, and it is this less-traveled path I will discuss here. iTunes U and educational podcasting have been closely associated with coursecasting: the practice of producing audio or video recordings of course lectures and making them available online. That said, iTunes U is only one possible means for undertaking educational podcasting, and thus while I will focus on iTunes U here, many of these practices may be undertaken by other technical means. Not surprisingly, iTunes U also interfaces easily with the iPod. I fear, with Turner Classic Movies, Zaslav is about to weaken another - but I'd love to be proven wrong. The above schedule links are often in flux as TCM redesigns its website. In Zaslav's short time on the job, he's already considerably damaged CNN, one of Turner's more brilliant network ideas. Zaslav also, since becoming CEO, has overseen the rapid, clumsy devaluation of CNN, by making poorly received moves like that Donald Trump town hall. TCM’s annual 31 Days of Oscar programming returns for its 28th year, kicking off on March 1st with a month-long showcase of films recognized by the Academy. It's presenting only a tepid taste of what TCM offers on its own 24-hour cable service. Programming Schedule for TCM (Turner Classic Movies). What's worse, its highlighted TCM movie offerings are almost all of the more recent, filmed in color, variety. Zaslav's altered that Max streaming service so that, while a link to a TCM sub-menu does appear, it's buried way down in the menu. Discovery, already has turned HBO Max into just Max, which makes no sense - devaluing his own HBO brand. And he's the guy who, since taking over the reins at Warner Bros. But Zaslav already has just shut down his overseas equivalent of Turner Classic Movies in the U.K. Zaslav says the TCM channel is on all the time in his office, too, and he's saying all the right things about valuing the curation of film as well as film itself. It explains why some films and performances are so good, and why you should watch and value them. TCM doesn't just present movies, it curates them. It creates a sense of community and enthusiasm among its viewers, which is invaluable. Thanks to its knowledgeable and enthusiastic co-hosts, it puts those films into context. I wrote them about it as it very-much rubbed wrongly against their 'never cut for time or content' philosophy. The print they ran was blind-man-obviously an edited-for-broadcast-TV print with all of the language bleeped out. It presents a wider variety of movies, across film's century-plus history, than any other network or streaming service. I just hope that theyve gotten a new print since the last time Ive watched it on TCM (around 3 years back). The more you love film, the more you're likely to love TCM. Because, to people who really love movies, that's what the news felt like. When the dismissal was announced recently of most of the people who have guided Turner Classic Movies brilliantly for years - the programmers, the producers of special material, even the executives who plan the TCM film festivals and party cruises - many people in Hollywood reacted like there'd been a death in the family. These decorative, narrative and symbolic intros- films within films-are essential, and often as memorable as the films they frame. You have broadcast so many good ones in the course of your regular cinematic offerings, but an entire special on their history, spotlighting the well-known and lesser-known designers, would fulfill your branded mission to curate, contextualize, connect and celebrate film culture. This letter is, instead, a suggestion that a new TCM Originals feature be devoted to film title sequences. I’ve scheduled a review of the graphic elements next week.
